Your Voice Matters
Dear Fremont Re-2 Community:
Your voice matters.
On October 11, the Fremont Re-2 Board of Education voted to hire McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. to lead the search for the district’s next superintendent following Dr. Krage’s retirement at the end of the current school year. McPherson & Jacobson has been conducting national superintendent searches since 1991 and had conducted more than 1,000 searches during this time.
Dr. Walt Cooper, former superintendent of the Cheyenne Mountain School District in Colorado Springs and Colorado search consultant for the firm, will lead the search efforts for the Board. Dr. Cooper most recently led the search for the Colorado Commissioner of Education and for superintendents in Colorado Springs School District 11, Academy School District 20, Summit County School District, Archuleta School District, Mountain Valley School District, Moffat School District, and East Grand School District.
Dr Cooper will work with the board to design a search that meets the unique needs of our school district and community. This process will begin with community and staff member feedback sessions which will be held on the following date and time:
Staff, Thursday, November 2, 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the FJSHS Auditorium
Community, Thursday, November 2, 6:00-7:00 pm at the FJSHS Auditorium
For those of you unable to make the designated session above, an online survey will be sent out.
Dr. Cooper will then meet with the Board of Education on December 11 during their Board work session that begins at 6:00 pm. to establish the full timeline and selection process.
Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
